Fabrics & Material: 32, Design: 30 Size: 18 Price: 10 Other: 10

《Fabrics & Material》
  • I have sensitive skin, so I prefer cotton material that is absorbent and easy on my skin. (50s / Female / Nagasaki / Housewife)
  • I can wear it for a long time if the fabric is strong and the sewing is solid.(40s / Female / Osaka / Self-employed, freelance)
  • I have sensitive skin, so I cannot wear materials that itch. (40s / Male / Kanagawa / Self-employed, freelance)
  • Because I want to use good things for a long time (30s / Female / Nara / Self-employed, freelance)
  • I think the fabric material is important when purchasing shirts because many shirts tend to wrinkle or fade after repeated washing. (20s / Female / Osaka / Housewife)
  • The fabric should not be too thick or too thin, and a comfortable T-shirt is a key factor to consider when purchasing a T-shirt. It is also better if the material absorbs sweat adequately. (40s / Male / Hyogo / Self-employed, freelance)
  • If the lining does not match my skin when I actually wear it, I will feel stressed and will not want to wear it, no matter how nice the design or how durable it is. I want to give priority to selecting fabrics and materials that are compatible with my skin. (30s / Female / Kagoshima / Part-time job)
  • Cheap ones are easily damaged. (40s / Male / Yamagata Prefecture / Full-time employee)
  • I want something that feels good to wear. I want something that is gentle on my skin. (50s / Female / Miyazaki / Housewife)
  • The feel of the T-shirt on the skin differs greatly depending on the material used. (40s / Male / Chiba / Self-employed, freelance)
  • Since I sweat easily and have sensitive skin, I often consciously choose items that are breathable and pleasant to the touch. (30s / Male / Tokyo / Full-time employee)
  • I have weak skin and want to avoid synthetic fibers. (30s / Male / Saitama / Full-time employee)
  • Because the feel of the skin is most important. (30s / Male / Kyoto / Self-employed, freelance)
  • I have fewer opportunities to buy clothes, so I want something that will last as long as possible. (30s / Male / Kochi / Full-time employee)
  • I want to choose clothes made of comfortable materials because I cannot wear them for a long time even if I like them if they are made of synthetic fibers or other materials that tend to make my skin itch after several washes. (40s / Female / Aomori / Housewife)
  • Because I want something comfortable to wear. (30s / Female / Osaka / Housewife)
  • Price is important, but also because it is easy to use something that can be used for a long time and is gentle to the skin. (40s / Female / Nara / Unemployed)
  • If I don't like the material, I won't wear it even if I bought it. (40s / Female / Hiroshima / Housewife)
  • I like materials that do not wrinkle when washed (30s / Female / Nara / Housewife)
  • I am concerned about transparency! I avoid anything that might show through my underwear. (30s / Female / Fukuoka / Housewife)
  • Even if the design is good, it will be ruined if the fabric is bad, so I decide on the fabric and material regardless of the brand or manufacturer. (50s / Male / Mie Prefecture / Full-time employee)
  • Material 100% cotton because it feels good to wear. Light cotton is the best for summer. (40s / Male / Aomori / Full-time employee)

  • They prefer T-shirts made of fabrics that are gentle and warm on the skin in winter and not sticky with perspiration in summer, and that are comfortable to wear. (50s / Male / Kanagawa / Self-employed, freelance)
  • I don't feel comfortable wearing it if it doesn't feel comfortable against my skin (50s / Male / Aichi / Full-time employee)
  • It is because if it is not made of cotton, it does not fit my skin. (40s / Female / Hokkaido / Housewife)
  • Since I am not in the habit of ironing, I often decide whether the material is wrinkle-resistant or not. (30s / Female / Shizuoka / Housewife)
  • Because the material should have good water absorbency and the neck area should be made of a material that is not easily sagged. (40s / Male / Shizuoka / Full-time employee)
  • Inexpensive T-shirts that get worn out after only a few washes will discourage people from purchasing them, even if they like the design. I prefer T-shirts that are made of solid fabric and sewn well and look expensive. (50s / Female / Aichi / Part-time job)
  • Even if the design is good, if the fabric is polyester or contains no cotton, I don't care to buy it. (40s / Female / Tokyo / Full-time employee)
  • I want to wash and dry my clothes at once, so I like things that are not a hassle to maintain (30s / Female / Kyoto / Housewife)

  • If the size is not right, no matter how good the design is, how cheap it is, or whether it is a luxury brand, it will all be for naught. (40s / Male / Shizuoka / Self-employed, freelance)

  • Because there are few sizes that fit me (30s / Female / Okayama / Self-employed, freelance)

  • If the size is not right, people around me will think it is not clean. (20s / Male / Tokyo / Full-time employee)
  • Because I have a skinny body type and if the size is not right for me, I will look poor. Because many T-shirts have simple designs that easily show the lines of the body, size is the most difficult and important factor to consider. (40s / Female / Tokyo / Full-time employee)

Summary

The most common deciding factor when purchasing a T-shirt was “fabric/material” at 32%, with many respondents placing importance on fabric/material due to the characteristics of T-shirts, which are in direct contact with the skin.

Next to “fabric/material,” there were also many opinions regarding “design” and “size” in terms of how to dress and coordinate, perhaps because T-shirts are indispensable for summer outfits.
